Government Announces 5-Year EV Policy — Zero Customs Duty on EV Imports Until 2027

The federal government has approved a new 5-year EV policy extending zero customs duty on imported electric vehicles weighing under 3 tonnes until December 2027.

Pakistan's Ministry of Industries and Production has formally approved the EV Policy Extension 2025-2027. The policy retains zero customs duty for passenger EVs below 3 tonnes and introduces a 1% customs duty for commercial EVs. Additionally, EV assembly plants with at least 30% local content will receive a 3-year tax holiday.
